Computer Technician Secretly Spied On Customers In Their Homes While They Were Naked

Computer technician, Trevor Harwell, has been arrested in Los Angeles, for spying on people in their homes. When customers would go to his repair company Rezitech for repairs to their computers, he would secretly install spyware that allowed him to later remotely access their laptops and PCs.
He would then secretly activate the webcams, using it to watch people, mostly women, in various states of undress and engaging in sexual activity in their homes, in deeds that are criminal violations of domestic and international law.
Harwell also installed malware that would create a fake pop up telling computer owners to take their laptops into the bathroom when they showered, as the steam would reportedly clean the sensors. It was all a lie to perversely watch women naked in the shower.
The criminal scam was uncovered when a woman took her computer to an Apple store and one of the company's technicians found the illegal software Harwell surreptitiously installed and instructed her to call the police.
Authorities opened an investigation into Harwell and later arrested him. He has been released on $50,000 bail pending trial. Police also seized from Harwell's computers "hundreds of thousands of still images and videos" he secretly took of his victims in their home, stashed on his computer. We are living in a sick world.

Police: Computer tech installed peeping software
FULLERTON, Calif.—A Southern California computer repairman suspected of installing spyware on laptops that enabled him to snap and download photographs of women showering and undressing in their homes was arrested Wednesday at his home, police said.
Police began investigating when a Fullerton resident complained about suspicious messages appearing on his daughter's computer last year. Trevor Harwell installed software that took control of computer webcams on his clients' Mac laptops, Fullerton police Sgt. Andrew Goodrich said. He was released later Wednesday after posting $50,000 bond, Goodrich said.
The software sent fake error messages telling users to "fix their internal sensor soon," and "try putting your laptop near hot steam for several minutes to clean the sensor," Goodrich said. The error message prompted some victims to take their laptops into the bathroom with them when they showered, he said.
"Once he had access, he would take photographs of the users, usually women," Goodrich said. "Often, the female victims were undressed or changing clothes. Harwell then stored the photos on a remote server, and eventually downloaded them on his own computer."...

This is a continuation of the article Leading Rental Company Facing Lawsuit For Spying On People In Their Homes Through Their Laptops, which focused on the terrible act of invasion of privacy, targeting people in their very homes. There are videos online, such as the two in this article, that address the problem and give you tips on how to protect yourself and your family.
There are other methods criminals are employing of spying on others, which are more technically advanced and as such, not mentioned in the aforementioned videos. However, said invasive methods would require police intervention to bring it to a halt, against innocent members of the public. Obama Trashes The iPad

U.S. President Barack Obama, using computer technology to make a phone call
U.S. President Barack Obama launched into a tirade against modern technology, notably slamming Apple's iPad, which the Judiciary Report thinks is a nifty little piece of hardware. Mr. Obama labeled it, "A distraction...rather than a tool of empowerment." As a result, many blogs and websites are slamming the President.

Is Obama mad at Apple's Steve Jobs? Is Mrs. Obama having an affair with Jobs? (kidding - she better not!). One has to wonder about the motivation behind the slam of one of America's most profitable companies that makes good products many enjoy.

Let's not forget, Apple is putting money into the U.S. Treasury, via tax revenues, for the President to spend...and spend he has. At least Apple didn't need a bailout and once again, you're spending their money, Mr. President.
Mr. Obama should remember, doctors, scientists and inventors use computers and other forms of technology, to formulate works that cure disease and make life better for everyone. You're not against curing disease, are you Mr. Obama?
Backlash Over Obama Insulting the Precious iPad
Bloggers and techies are booing Obama's commencement speech at Hampton University, where he took shots at the iPad and social media for being a "distraction...rather than a tool of empowerment." The notoriously Blackberry addicted president, who gives his weekly address on YouTube and has his own Facebook page, claimed he didn't know how to use most of the tech toys and warned against blogs perpetuating the "craziest claims." Now, the blogs are revolting.
Blogger Stowe Boyd thinks Obama was avoiding the real issues, writing, "Is he kidding? We have a world in chaos—ecological mess, wars, a wounded economy, unemployment—and he decides to warn college seniors about overuse of shiny mobile devices?"
Finance blog The Streets saw a lot of Obama bashing on their message boards, with commenter CedricT saying, "Obama is just another out of touch middle aged man set in his ways too early in life...He needs to be mocked and pitied not used as a role model." The blog says Obama should credit these companies for turning American brands into global icons and facilitating his goal of transparency in government.
Of course, one blogger had the guts to tweet what everybody was already thinking: "Why does Obama hate iPad's and blogs and anything else U get information from? He can't control it!" That or he's just jealous he got on the Blackberry bandwagon before the iPad came out.

ID Theft Ring Buys Their Own iTunes Music

An ID theft ring was arrested by the FBI for using stolen credit cards to purchase their own music recordings they uploaded to iTunes and Amazon. And? Quite a few Hollywood stars do this as well, sans the stolen credit cards, to inflate their sales. However, it does constitute fraud and chart rigging.

The ID theft ring collected $300,000 in this manner, in royalty checks from duped iTunes, who collaborated with the Feds on this case.

Criminal gang bought own music on iTunes and Amazon using stolen cards

June 11, 2009 - Amazon and iTunes, who were unaware of the fraud, paid royalties totalling $300,000. The Metropolitan Police and the FBI have caught an international criminal gang said to have made tens of thousands of pounds by buying their own records from Apple iTunes and Amazon with stolen credit cards.

The gang are alleged to have created several songs that they provided to an online American company, which uploaded them to be sold on the two internet sites.

It is believed that over four months from September last year the gang used 1,500 stolen or cloned British and American credit cards to buy songs worth $750,000 (£469,000).

Amazon and iTunes, which were unaware of the fraud, paid $300,000 in royalties. Six men and three women were arrested yesterday by 60 officers at addresses in London, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Kent. A man in his forties, was arrested later.

They are all being held in custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit fraud and money laundering.

A police source said: “We will not know why they did what they did until we have conducted all the interviews.” It is believed that one of the gang is a DJ and that he created the songs that were then bought...

Apple refused to comment on the story but it is believed that there is no standard fee for royalties and each deal is negotiated separately. The gang is said to have made 40 per cent from the royalties.
